#84 Apocalypse

Apocalypse is about a shift - a perceptual, ideological, energetic collapse of an old dogma of thinking. Not sure what came over me, but I took down the National Geographic World Map that hung in my studio and started erasing it. It took 17 Staedtler mars plastic erasers and countless hours... There was something strange and cathartic about how hard it was to erase an area. At the opening, attendees would stare into its blankness. A young lady told me that it was the only map she had ever seen that wasn't fraught with anxiety. An older man came up to me, "I've never seen anything more horrific then that map you erased." Here's to this island earth. Bless, Zain Burgess.
