A preeminent portrait photographer, Christopher Ireland works in the realms of advertising, art and editorial.
Christopher enjoys challenging himself with subjects whose experiences are fascinating, and different to his own.
His career was launched off the success of his series about asbestos, BREATHE, which debuted at the Australian Centre for Photography in 2009 before touring nationally. Several images from this series are in the permanent collection at the Latrobe Art Gallery.
Since then Christopher has built a noteworthy presence in the advertising industry, taking commissions with Australia’s leading agencies including JWT, Leo Burnett, Moon, Ogilvy and Mather, and Clemenger BBDO.
In 2011 Christopher had work selected for Images from adland, an exhibition featuring advertising campaigns that challenge the boundaries between art and commerce.
He was the winner of the 2011 Fairfax Shoot The Chef portrait prize.
