Photographer Tanit Plana reveals areas of personal, often hidden, conflicts. Whether her focus is on love, boredom, sex, or obsession, Plana researches her subjects with great detail, resulting in strikingly intimate images. Taking a newer interest in activism, her work has begun to incorporate performance and broader social causes.
Plana has earned a number of awards for her projects, including the la Caixa Foundation’s Fotopres Fellowship in 2001, the Plastic Arts Olot Fellowship in 2004, as well as several recent grants from Catelonia’s Department of Culture. She currently teaches at Pompeu Fabra University and IDEP school in Barcelona
